How do I create a test in Blackboard?
Open the Course Management Control Panel, click on Course Tools, then on Test, Surveys, and Pools.

From here choose Test, then click the Build Test button.

Give the test a name. Optionally, you can also provide a description and instructions. Description will show up under the name of the test for the students to see on the page before they click on the test to take it. Instructions will show up after the student has clicked on the link to begin taking the course. Hit submit after these are filled in.

On the next page, you will choose Create Question, then choose the type of question you'd like to create. For additional information on test, and a description of each question type, download this PDF via Blackboard here

Continue to create more questions until you have made all the questions. After a question is made, you can adjust the point value using the point area in the upper right of each question.

Once you have created all of the questions, hit the OK in the bottom right hand corner.

Navigate to the area in the course were you want the test to show up. From here, go to Assessments, then click on Test.

From here, choose the test you just created, then hit submit.

Here, you will be given a number of options for settings on the test.

We strongly encourage you to make sure you have everything set up correctly on the test before any students take it. Once even one student has taken it, changing any options on the test can cause many technical problems.
